Some years ago, the National Science Foundation, recognizing the need for attention to be paid to several fields of importance to the nation, called for education and action in SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH. The acronym “S.T.E.M.” was coined. STEM thus became a commonly used term and rallying cry in educational and industrial communities. Then, just a couple of years ago, industry began to recognize the importance of the arts as they related to and integrated into STEM fields. With the addition of arts (and design), “S.T.E.A.M.” is now being recognized and referred to more and more.

New state and national education standards are being drafted and soon will be released to help guide the nation’s education system and business/industry complex. It is about both literacy and career development in these fields to help the U.S. keep or help regain global competitiveness.

Every Saturday, the doors open to start a day of fun and learning for the kids of H.O.P.E. The M&m Youth Mentor Program was established with a purpose of helping the children of client families of H.O.P.E. to reach their potential and fulfill their dreams.

With a purpose of creating a positive environment for youth to learn and grow, the M&M Youth Mentor Program teaches them to break the cycle of poverty and violence, H.O.P.E. offers this program to youth ages 7-17, who demonstrate a need for positive role models in their lives. The M&M Youth Mentor Program provides access to free their imagination and allow their minds to think beyond their circumstances.

Our purpose is to help the children of client families, and children in Orange County to reach their potential and fulfill their dreams and become healthy children in healthy families

Focus on healthy lifestyles, crime, drug and gang prevention activities and S.T.E.A.M, (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math)

H.O.P.E. offers this program to youth ages 7-17, who are low-income, children of single parents and two parent families with at-risk youth
The M&m Youth Mentor Program provides access to free their imagination and to allow their young minds to think beyond their boundaries by giving opportunities of expression through the arts, drawing, keyboard/vocals and guitar lessons
Service Learning Projects aid youth preparing to graduate from High School by achieving civics class requirements for Community service hours
